One thing CCC shows me every year is how amazing it can be when you get a bunch of random hackers (who have never met each other) into a room, and you start bouncing ideas off each other.
I’ve tried to create a similar environment here (on this blog), on IRC, and to a lesser extent, on the Wiibrew forum. I realized that there is a need for a place where we can have high-quality conversations over a long period of time, and where we can moderate out all the noise.
So, my latest experiment is http://lostscrews.com/ — come by, read the explanation, and participate!

This sounds awesome, I will be monitoring this.
Guess it really is hackers on steroids at CCC.

good luck with the site. You need to somehow come up with a way to block people from signing up who’re just gonna ask you for help with their Wii…
like I said though. good luck.

On the WiiBrew Forums, I do my best to keep all of the nonsense chatter out of the serious forums and shoved into the newb forums. Unfortunately, the WiiBrew Forums fail because they are Wii oriented whereas your vision seems oriented toward everything so long as the discussion is very serious and constructive. Good luck on your new endeavor and I’ll be sure to lurk around and read what will surely be some fascinating discussion.

It may be useful to write a high level post or two on reverse-engineering to get the ball rolling…
You know, lead by example 😛

Cool. Sounds like CCC is very (for lack of a better word) “inspirational”.
