Many of us are planning on attending 26C3 in Berlin in a few weeks — we hope to get a table again in the Hackcenter this year, but no guarantees.
We will not be presenting anything this year, sorry! There’s not much new to report with the Wii, and we don’t have anything complete enough to show for the DSi. Also, honestly, I’m looking forward to actually getting some sleep this year and seeing some presentations — I barely emerged from the basement for the last two years.
If we do get some space to set up, we’ll probably have at least one Wii, hopefully a DSi-hacking setup, and then you’ll get to see the rest of the projects that have occupied our time over the last year — lasers, all sorts of SunPlus devices, etc. Should be good times.
Post a comment if you’re planning on attending.

Does this mean that as far as the Wii goes you have reached the level where it is no longer a challenge, it is totally under your control and therefore there is nothing new to show?

“I barely emerged from the basement for the last two years.”
Why not post something we don’t know?

What a shame you won’t have any talks this year. The console hacking talks are really the best in my opinion.
I really find it interesting to hear how big companies, which should be state-of-the-art programming are being beaten by hobbyists.
But perhaps even more, how the smallest mistake can break everything. That is fascinating.
The DSi is interesting in that it is a completely new design, and Nintendo had the change to fix everything they did wrong on the DS.
And also is doesn’t have optical media.
But then again, it does have UMD =)

I’ll be there 🙂 console hacking talks rock, even if they’re about (yet) unfinished stuff – maybe you can get a few more people on board, too 😉
I’m still waiting for someone to make Linux run on the PS3 Slim again …

I’ll be there as well. You’ll hopefully be able to find us in our usual spot in the hackcenter.

I’m debating going considering that I only live about an hour away, I just can’t get over the 80€ entrance fee… quite honestly I don’t have that much dough just laying around. would it really be worth it?

I built a little laser scanner out of a galvo+amps kit, a random green laser pointer (60mW or so), a USB sound card and a custom laser driver. I’m experimenting with a new software stack that I’m writing, based on the JACK audio routing software. You can see some results in my reecnt YouTube videos 😉
