  The first version wii-system-menu-update-JAP-v288-repad works on my Wii Jap, many many thx! I used Dragon Burn(Mac) on a Mitsubshi DVD-R @ 4X speed

  my kids just used their new (birthday present) wii japanese version with mariokart uk version. then i cannot get to setting screen, it keeps coming up with opera error message. i guessed from the above that this is semi brick!?

  i am not very technical, how do i get the file from the link to a disc? a cd-r or a dvd-r? then what do you do? can someone be kind enough to provide a step to step idiot guide for me.

  this will be much appreciated.

  thanks : Yes, I still have/had the dual channel displays. Only one of each works. Simply DRAG them to page 2 and you’ll not see them anymore.

  Just use the files located here. This is a proven working solution. OR…….wait till a new FW version appears on newly released game [who knows how long that’ll be]

  Cottonian:

  1.)Download the file

  2.) Use WINRAR to unzip the file to a ISO image
  Right click>extract here

  3.) Use ImgBurn [free] to burn the ISO image.
  ImgBurn is a super easy SW to operate.

  Use a decent quality DVD-R media

  i need help on my wii

  i tried burning on my philips dvd-r at 2x/4x/6x/ on my sony dvdwriter and every time i put it on a wee a black screen appears. :((
  please i really need help my wii is ntsc/j

  i downloaded the ntsc file as i have a jap wii and extracted it burned it thru IMG BURN and the wii doesnt read it , my wiis semi bricked cos of pal mario kart , i used dvd-r and at 4x everything i usually do to burn a game still not working any suggestiongs

  Ok, we should see exactly WHAT Disc drives were dealing with.
  To those that can/can’t get it to work; Post the make and/or model of the burner. Be sure to label it WORKING/NOT WORKING. ALWAYS keep drivers up to date, if you can.
  Maybe we can figure that problem out easier.
  After all, Drives can be racist against media.
  Does one HAVE to have a modded Wii for this to work? Firmware 3.2e (I think)
  Not bricked (small whisper) yet.

  BTW, is it possible to get perfect dark on the VC through modding/hacking another VC game? I’m sure it won’t show up in Shop channel in this lifetime.

  One more thing, I find that if one uses image burning tools, set them between 1x-4x; it allows for better chance of decent results, also try a lens cleaner, if you can get one. Once a month seems okay, better to keep our stuff clean and efficient, right?
  Let’s hope I never have to deal with a bricked Wii, as I can’t afford to get another, let alone pay for any type of repairs.
