First of all, i have to thank you guys for all the great work you have done!!!

I have the wii with the firmware 4.0 so twilight hack didnt work on my wii i dont even tried to install it), and for all i have been reading, bootmii would be the solution for those who have this firmware ver?
Or there would be another type of exploit like the twilight hack to install the HBC and the others applications?
I really appreciate your work, and i cant wait to have this applications on mi wii T.T

Hi everyone! I'm new here and to Homebrew as well. As a matter of fact, before looking into whether or not there was a action replay-like device for Wii games yesterday, I didn't know that it even existed! I've been doing my research about it, and it sucks that the Twilight hack doesn't work anymore (at least for people like me who updated their Wii to 4.0 as soon as it was announced from Nintendo). But, it looks as though BootMii is that silver lining on an otherwise dark cloud.

I think that what you can do with the Homebrew channel is great. Now I'm not one for cheating when it comes to beating the game the first time through and experiencing it, but after completely beating it, it's great that something like Homebrew can give it excellent replay value.

For example: lately I've been revisiting Brawl after going through other games like Mario Kart and Mario Galaxy. After playing Brawl for a little bit (pretty much everything's beat on it), I started to grow a little bored with it. Hence of why I looked into Homebrew (after all, AR was great for Melee).

Now, I'm not here to ask anything like an ETA on when BootMii will be done (or the public beta for that matter), as I understand that the great minds behind this have more testing to do and stuff (not to mention their own lives to live), but I just wanted to comment on how great I think you guys are for making something like Homebrew and applaud you for doing your best to make Homebrew something useable for people like me.

I do have a couple of things to ask though: 1)will BootMii be installed just like Homebrew was (as far as getting the necessary info to make it work on an SD card is concerned)? And 2)If yes to Q1, do you have plans to add Mac OS to the list of supported OSs?

Any answers will be appreciated. Keep up the good work and I can't wait to try the public beta (as long as my remains bootable, that is).

Got a question. I want to continue to use Ocarina as well as the savegame extractor/installer but also access the store and I'm at 3.3u version of my software. Do I go ahead an upgrade to 4.0?

Summary:

IOS16 enables pirates (software pirates) to use wiis for their own devious ends, and therefore is illegal to download/use. Don't talk about it here.

Currently the System Upgrade V 4.0 released by Nintendo kills the saved copy of the Twilight hack, nothing else. It is safe to update to 4.0 if Homebrew/HBC is already installed on your Wii, as it doesn't seem to have any effect on currently installed homebrew.

Comex is working on an exploit that maybe used in a similar fashion to what Team Twiizers and their Twilight Hack have been doing.

In short: V4.0 Kills Twilight hack, half-asses SD loading, and expands support up to 32GB SDHC cards. That's it. I'd imagine that the effective timetable for building the new exploit would be about 2-3 months from now or less. As these guys to quick and impressive work.

R.I.P. Twilight Hack, you've been a great help.

well thats what i thought but apparently i was wrong...
what happened is I copied my HBC installation to my sd card then deleted it from my system memory thinking that i would be able to run the HBC from my sd card so i updated. And now it will not run. And i cannot copy the HBC back to the system memory so i guess i am up a creek :(

Hi Guys

I have spent 2 days readin through hundreds of forums and im now completley lost lol.

I have my Bro's wii at my house it is on system menu 4.0

im looking to install hbc on it for the obvious reasons.

i have it installed on my 3.4 wii no probs at all using the AMAZING twighlight hack

i keep reading about bootmii and all this other stuff just wondered if someone could point me in right direction of what i should do to get HBC on this 4.0 machine or if i do need to wait if there is an ETA i could give him.

Im willing to test files if needed i have read about bannerbomb etc etc but i was told this was the only site to believe what i read?

Thanks in advance

If HBC and DVDX are already installed, is there any reason NOT to upgrade to 4.0?

So the Twilight hack dies with the new update. I see this. If your system doesnt have the new update does the Twilight hack live on?

yeah i was thinkin the same thing as sillian... i updated my wii then i played mario kart wii online and was realizing that people were hacking so i started looking up stuff online and found out about homebrew and have been trying to download it to my wii. no luck there, because of the update i guess that was my problem... if there is a way to get homebrew even with the new update that would be great but until then ill wait
